Twins closer Joe Nathan has been diagnosed with an Ulnar Collateral Ligament tear in his pitching elbow after traveling to the Twin Cities to undergo some tests.
Nathan was forced to leave a Spring Training game on Saturday after feeling tightness in his right elbow, and initially the hope was the soreness stemmed from his off-season surgery to remove bone chips from that same elbow.
Unfortunately for Nathan and the Twins, that was not the case.
The plan going forward is for Nathan to wait a few weeks and let the swelling in his elbow subside, before testing his pain threshold [...]
